Nefiston Station
It's eight o'clock in the morning; 1 hear a voice
give out a warning: "The 8.03 from Glasgow is departing now,
twenty minutes late." 1 lean against the chipped red gate;
1 hear my friends' loud chatter, as they talk about their great
weekend, But in my head I'm still asleep and it's driving me round
the bend. All of a sudden, 1 hear rattle, chug, chug through the
gentle rain. 1 wake up slightly; 1 know this sound Yes, I'm right,
it is the train! 1 see a woman struggling with her pram and her
son, So I think to myself at this time in the morning that can't
be fun! Ah, we chug, chug, along, The train sings its usual song,
A little chug, rattle here, a little chug, rattle there. Then we
stop and get out at Patterton into the moist foggy air.
