NEILSTON STATION

Neilston Station was opened in 1903. From there it has had trains travel to Ardrossan through their station but this ceased to continue in 1932. Then the big change was that in 1962 it became the end line and this was opened by Dr Beeching.

This all happened a long time before I stepped into the station. When I f irst stepped into Neilston Station I was eleven years old. I was not sure of whether to love it or hate it as I was one of the youngest people there without a parent. This was as I was in f irst year at Eastwood High. I would look around and see lots of people older than me, so it seemed like I was in a minority. This made me feel nervous but having my big sister there helped me not to be too scared.

I began to think that I was fortunate to have a working station so close to home. This mode me realise that the opening of the station in 1903 has been to my benef it. A big example of this is I would have had to get a bus to Barrhead, might have gone to Barrhead High rather than Eastwood High. Looking at these, has made me really glad that this station has been available for me to use everyday of the week.

This essay has really helped me to realise what a privilege I have in my life. I have also enjoyed writing this essay and I hope that you enjoy reading my essay on Neilston Station.
