MEDIA and the Millenium Project
The MnM project is a new initiative being developed in East Renfrewshire.
The initiative is designed to encourage 16 - 25 year olds, interested
in digital technology to participate in volunteering.
What training is on offer?
- Using digital technology volunteers will be taught how to write, design,
film, edit, dub and produce their own films, pop promos, documentaries,
commercials or whatever they want.
- Designing and developing websites for family, friends and organisations.
- Working with desktop publishing to create CD ROM covers, letterheads,
leaflets, flyers etc.
What equipment will be used?
- Digital Video (DV) Cameras
- Film Editing Software
- Midi and MP3 Sound/Audio Recorders
- Desktop Publishing Software
- Digital Still Cameras
- Website Development Software
What else is there to do?
- External trainers including editors, still photographers, screenwriters,
directors, web designers, sound recordists and graphic designers will
host workshops and training sessions.
- ‘Away Days’ to professional organisations will be arranged as will
visits to cinema, short film festivals etc.
- The project welcomes ideas and suggestions from all participants and
encourages experimentation with media technology.
