My Family History: James and Katherine Lowndes of (Nether) Arthurliecoat of arms

I am descended from James and Katherine Lowndes of (Nether) Arthurlie.
They once lived in Nether Arthurlie House, which is now the former St Mary’s Convent.
This is my family history.

2) The French Connection

(pic: Medieval Knight circa The Battle of Hastings Period)

The first Lowndes, Guillaume Seigneur de Lounde, was one of the nobles who accompanied William the Conqueror to Hastings in 1066. Since the Conqueror was Guillaume Seigneur de Normandie, apparently, the first Lowndes ruled a homeland in Normandy called Lounde.

Perhaps you or someone knows something about Lounde? If so, perhaps you would be so kind as to send me a map of Lounde, some history of the area, and journal accounts of life there.

Do you know a French geneologist who makes Lounde his or her specialty? I have also e-mailed my requests to the director of "Centre Guillaume le Conquerant" in Bayeux, France.
