Electrification - The line was electrified in 1962 and was featured in a BBC documentary

On the left is the site where the old signal box used to stand. Behind this is the mineral shed.

Cllr James McGuire actively campaigned to save the line during the 1980s. The result was the non-closure of the line and modernisation. This plaque in the waiting room commemorates this occasion.

Cllr Ian Forbes and Cllr Walter MacLellan unveiled this plaque in 1997 to commemorate the opening of a Sunday service on the line. It can be viewed in the waiting room.
