When I was young getting new clothes was quite an event.
It was like Christmas all over. I had four elder sisters, my mother would say,
You need a new coat, but we can't afford one, but your sister's got one there,
take the belt off, put a new one on, change the buttons, take the hem up, presto,
you've got a new coat. I detested it.
