Anne
Henderson
When I left school, I started work in Baron Stroud's in Anniesland. I was an
office girl and I used to deliver things from one department to another and
take things back; do filing and things like that; cleaned up round sinks and
what have you.
I went through different other jobs. I was on the buses. I can't really mind
what year that was. We used to be up and down the stiars, collecting fares.
One time in particular, I went up the stair for the fare and this man had been
just back from the hills and he was complaining. He wasn't going to give me
his fare because he was just back from the hills. I can't mind if I put him
off the bus, or if I let him stay.
