East Renfrewshire Arts development Forum seeks to represent the Arts community by working together with the Council, to promote the Arts in East Renfrewshire. Forum membership is open to anyone engaged in the wide range of arts in the area, visual, media, crafts, writers, performing arts bands, music, drama, choral, non western art, professional, amateur, business, Scottish traditional arts.
The Forum is managed by a Group of 15 elected individuals who meet on the first Tuesday of each month, they aim to act as the voice of the arts, as a channel of communication between the arts community and the Council. The Forum is currently extending its membership we welcome all issues and idea from artists in the area.

Membership Fees are £1 for individuals and £5 for groups.

Our current aim is to go forward together with East Renfrewshire Council, to promote a vibrant arts community in East Renfrewshire.

Who and what ?


East Renfrewshire Arts Development Forum:-
The Forum aims to advance and promote, foster and develop interest, appreciation, participation in the broad spectrum of arts.

The Forum is independent of, but works together with East Renfrewshire Council.

The Forum is represented by 15 individuals elected from the arts community both business and voluntary.

Why a forum ?

A great variety of arts activity exists in East Renfrewshire, individuals, business, groups, organisations.
East Renfrewshire Council recognises the great wealth of knowledge and experience in the arts community and aims to enable and facilitate future development.

The Forum is recognised by the Council as 'the legitimate voice of the arts community'. It provides a framework for the arts community to work together with the council to generate a vibrant pool of art initiatives.

The Forum allows for the sharing of ideas and experience within the many disciplines of the arts.

Forum Members benefit from working together to generate a vibrant arts community in East Renfrewshire.



What does the forum do ?

- Fosters interaction
- Addresses issues
The Forum is represented on various committees and has generated "PRIMERA" [East Renfrewshire society for Fine Arts]. It has successfully secured Awards for a grant to purchase Exhibition Boards for Artists in East Renfrewshire and has worked together with Cultural Services on various initiatives.

The forum also works closely with the Arts Development Officer and has organised several networking sessions.

Programme 2001 includes:
Launching Arts Magazine, Craft Fair, Festival, Educational Pack, Small Business Seminar, Writers Circles, Film and Media Projects Visual Arts.
